About the Artist

I love the majestic beauty of the southwest, and I enjoy sharing my interpretation of these scenic wonders on canvas.

I reside in the beautiful state of New Mexico and my primary artistic focus is painting southwest landscapes with acrylic paints on canvas and watercolor paper.

I began experimenting with painting in November of 2020 during Covid-19. Prior to this I had never attempted to paint. I have no training or education in painting, but I have always had an eye for creating artistic pieces such as jewelry, textiles, floral arranging and interior design. I began with studying trees and painting them in their simplest form. I then branched out to other elements such as mountains and various flora. This developed into my landscape paintings which I call impressions by Alice.

I desire to capture a small portion of my love for this enchanting land in my own way. I hope you enjoy my art as much as I have in creating the feeling of being part of this land and history.

Artist Statement

New Mexico has invited me to live here on three different occasions where I feel called by its beauty. Maybe it is my family history that lives in the veins of New Mexico that has called me back. It is a peaceful feeling that I have always felt when being in this scenic state. I am inspired by the scenic beauty of the southwest to try my hand at painting.
