“Alice's Century Rendition"

When it is ready to bloom a large stalk shoots up very quickly from the center with small stalks that hold the blooms. I have watched the growing process on my walks as many of our neighbors have this plant in their yard. It flowers only once at the end of its life and then the plant dies. The flowers last for about a month and they are so beautiful to see. I originally painted this for my husband for our anniversary, but my mother-in-law loved it so much that I gave it to her! The century plant is one of my favorite things to capture on canvas. Now it can be yours too in print!
